15000 Inc. is a leader in sustainable design. The firm is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Sustainable design involves the balance of occupant comfort, system efficiencies and over-all building life-cycle costs. These goals can only be achieved in collaboration with the owner, the architect and the related design team consultants. It is the synergy of the project team that invents and creates true innovation.
Our LEED APs have collaborated with architectural clients and owners in the development of many LEED registered projects for government, institutional, and private developers.
The Salmon Creek Falls Environmental Center was the first LEED Platinum certified K-12 public school in California, and it is also the first public building in Sonoma County to achieve LEED Platinum certification.
15000 Inc. was proud to part of the architectural and engineering team that designed the very first Green Point Rated multi-family project in Sonoma County.
We take particular pride in developing cost effective sustainable design solutions and we believe the synergy of a collaborative and integrated sustainable design can simultaneously improve building performance while reducing life cycle costs.
Sustainable technologies our firm has incorporated into recent projects include:
Natural Ventilation
15000 Inc. has designed natural ventilation systems utilizing manual and motorized operable windows or motorized louver systems. We model design options, and in collaboration with the architects, evaluate building orientation, shape and building openings to optimize natural ventilation.
Radiant Heating & Cooling
15000 Inc. has designed and commissioned numerous radiant heating and cooling systems, including:
- Chilled Beams
- Radiant Floors
- Radiant Panels
- Dedicated Outside Air Systems (DOAS)
Displacement Ventilation
We have designed displacement ventilation systems for schools and other facilities to provide improved indoor air quality, individual temperature control, reduced energy consumption and improved occupant comfort.
Variable Refrigerant Systems
Sustainable design involves the balance of occupant comfort, system efficiencies and over-all building life-cycle costs. Individual zone controls, high equipment efficiencies and low capital costs make variable refrigerant systems and ideal technology applications in schools, offices, hospitality and many other applications. 15000 Inc. has designed many of these systems, in a multitude of applications.
At 15000 Inc. we believe that sustainable design should be a part of every project we do, not just those that require LEED certification.
